About Burnt Hills Baptist Church

Who We Are

The Burnt Hills Baptist Church was organized in 1783 by pioneers as they moved westward from the church in Rhode Island which was founded by Roger Williams.  A church building has existed on the present site since 1801.  While we are a church with a long and rich history, we seek to bear a relevant contemporary witness.

We host and support local groups and organizations including Council Meadows – Senior Housing, the Ballston area Ecumenical VBS, and the Clock Group. Some of our ministries include Migrant Ministries, Samaritan’s Purse, Camp Pathfinder, 4 ABC National Offerings, Scholarships to High School Seniors, Salvation Army, City Mission of Schenectady, Schenectady Inner City Mission, Ellis Hospital Chaplaincy, Baptist Nursing and Rehabilitation, Community Human Services, Home Furnishings, American Baptist Churches / New York State, Springbrook, American for Christ, One Great Hour of Sharing, World Mission Offering, Retired Ministers and Missionaries, and the local food pantry.

The church has a strong commitment to local, national and international mission and service, supporting denominational, ecumenical and community agencies.
