Without Jesus, prayers don’t work. It is like the manger without a baby!

So we are here at Christmas and what are we focused on?

If it’s not God and the birth of his son, we just might be miserable and not even know it.

In the movie, Christmas Vacation, Helen, Chevy Chase’s wife, says “Well, I don’t know what to say but it’s Christmas, and we are all miserable.”

Why celebrate Christmas? It brings us closer to God! We could not have this closeness without the birth of Jesus. He is the living God, whom human beings interacted with.

In John Chapter 14 Verse 8: Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” In verse 9, Jesus replied, “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me?

So there is your answer. Why celebrate Christmas? Because it is our way to get closer to our God. Because God wants us to know him through a relationship with Jesus.

Christmas is where? What if I told you it is here every day, right here – every day! We don’t have to travel anywhere. There is a priest I know, who makes a pilgrimage to Jerusalem every year….and then it dawned on him Christmas and his honoring of Jesus is anywhere he is!!!!!

What if I told you the time and place where Jesus was born was significant, but our time in place is only significant because we are born into the kingdom of God.

We are here to celebrate the most memorable moment in our faith

Ultimately, through Jesus, we know that God wants us to know him, love him and serve him, as he does for us each day….he is our answer.
